Ejay started her author career in 2014 self publishing a steampunk series called the Last Prophecy. In 2019 she wrote Behind the Veil, signing a contract with Literary Wanderlust, released on the October 1st 2021. Her second novel with Literary Wanderlust, Echo of the Evercry, will be out on July 1st 2023. She also released scifi series, Queen of Spades, now an award-winning series. Studying a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing at Deakin University, she is also a mentor for Write Hive, and a Futurescapes Alumni. In July 2023 she will be reading submissions for a neurodivergent anthology for Deadset Press. She has a short non-fiction story called “I Can’t Hear the Sea with Gothic Seaside,” and fiction stories The Promise with Grendel Press, and Moth Dust with Savage Planets. Judge for SPSFC, volunteer for Flights of Foundry 2022, panelist for Weekend Writers, member of RWA (Aus) and Sisters in Crime (Aus), and avid earl grey tea drinker, whose muse is a real pain. When not writing, reading, or drowning in stories, she walks on the beach with her two rescue dogs and supportive spouse in southern NSW, Australia.

Mentorship Expectations

I’d like to work with a mentee who believes in their story but isn’t sure how to fix it. Who will be open to feedback and doing the work required to make the story better. In exchange I will go over the story twice. The first time to identify issues, and the second to workshop the solutions. Both times we’ll have chats that may last a couple of hours to talk about what the author wants from the work, and also so I can talk about problems and possible solutions.

Manuscript Wishlist

  • Scifi – give me your Gideon the Ninth, Iron Widow, The Outside, Fifth Season, Embers of War.
  • Fantasy – give me your ACOTAR, Sabriel, Nevernight.
  • Paranormal Romance
  • Contemporary
  • Alternate history
  • Dark academia.

I don’t want normal. I want the weird, the twisted, the daring. I’m not a big fan cozy contemporary stories, but can be convinced otherwise. I will not consider any books with unnecessary violence towards women.
