WriteHive Announces Open Submissions for Defying Death
WriteHive is pleased to announce its annual anthology, Defying Death, is now accepting submissions! Beginning December 1, 2025, WriteHive will begin accepting stories for its next anthology for release in 2027.
The theme for Defying Death is . . . well exactly as one would assume: Defying Death. We are looking for creative and unique stories about all the ways we overcome demise. We welcome all kinds of stories of resilience, resistance, and perseverance. And if there’s some rogue or trickster vibes in there, we’d definitely like to see them. We’re hoping that this next anthology will be another empowering, uplifting, yet defiant message of survival against all odds.

In partnership with Inked In Gray, WriteHive features a collection of authors in thematic anthologies annually, and all profits from anthology sales help fund WriteHive programming and initiatives.
WriteHive is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the writing community within the publishing industry. It is organized and operated by a group of volunteers with a mission to foster a safe, diverse community and provide free, inclusive events and resources for all writers, especially those from underrepresented and underserved communities. Programming includes the annual conference, writing retreat, silent auction, mentorship program, sponsoring the Indie Ink Awards, and more.
