Tyler Wittkofsky, a literary force from North Carolina’s southern coast, is a multi-genre author, award-winning marketing and communications professional, Writers and Publishers Network board member, and former President and Publisher of Tea With Coffee Media. Rooted in a family that revered the written word, his college years brought unforeseen challenges—addiction and undiagnosed mental illness. Tyler’s resilience, showcased in his debut collection “Coffee, Alcohol, and Heartbreak,” reflects a transformative journey from 2012 to 2016.
Innovating in novellas and novels like “(Not) Alone” and “The Seeds of Love,” Tyler sheds light on mental health challenges. His short stories found homes in anthologies. Launching www.TylerWittkofsky.com,
he provides insights on mental health, marketing, travel, and writing.
Co-founding Tea With Coffee Media in 2022, Tyler helped to amplify indie voices. Beyond writing, his podcasting endeavors include co-hosting Back Porch Parley and the former Cook the Books. Tyler’s ongoing cross-country adventures with wife Grace and canine companions unfold in the blog Adventure With Coffee.
Tyler Wittkofsky’s journey is a testament to resilience and an inspiration in literature, podcasting, and independent media.
As someone who’s been passionate about supporting indie authors, I’m eager to help guide a new generation of writers through the publishing journey. After closing Tea With Coffee Media, I’ve felt the itch to mentor and assist others again. My ideal mentee is someone who is open-minded, willing to learn, and committed to regular communication. I want them to embrace feedback and be open to change. I’m prepared to provide marketing guidance and mentorship well beyond the minimum, offering support through each stage of their writing and publishing process.
I’m looking for both YA and Adult manuscripts, especially in the following genres:
- Contemporary Romance – I enjoy heartfelt, character-driven romances that focus on emotional depth rather than explicit intimacy. I lean toward fade-to-black or subtle romance, allowing the focus to remain on the relationship’s development.
- Literary Fiction – I’m drawn to thoughtful narratives that explore complex emotions and human experiences. Stories that bring awareness to mental health are always a plus.
- Suspense – I love tension-filled thrillers with a strong psychological component. I’m particularly excited about stories that keep readers guessing and provide a deep dive into character motivations.
Favorites for Inspiration: Some of my all-time favorites include To Kill a Mockingbird, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, Summer of the Monkeys, Freak the Mighty, works by Brothers Grimm, Charles Bukowski, Stephen King, and Raymond Carver. If your work has a similar tone, I’d love to read it.
Do Not Want:
- Erotica or stories that heavily rely on sex scenes (While I am working on developing my skills here, I’m not the best fit for this yet).
- Poetry (while I appreciate it, it’s not my area of expertise).
- Non-fiction, including memoirs or self-help. Anything too heavy on gore or shock value that overshadows character development.
If your manuscript dives deep into emotions, mental health awareness, or brings suspenseful tension to the table, I’d be thrilled to hear from you!
