I have a strong background in developmental editing, while also reading for plot, character arc, pacing, and creating strong dialogue. I would love the opportunity to work with a mentee on strengthening their MS developmentally. My ideal mentee would be open to feedback, looking for someone to be their biggest cheerleader, and be willing to brainstorm through my adhd brain or ideas. I’m willing to continue on as a beta reader for the project we work on together and for future projects if wanted.

Adult:
  • Cozy SFF and Fantasy
  • Horroromance (but not strictly horror)
  • SF and Fantasy with LGBTQ characters
  • anything speculative with strong romance and humor
MG and YA:
  • Grounded fantasy with LGBTQ+ characters and/or Latinx characters
  • Magical realism
  • Anything speculative with strong romance and humor
  • Plots with strong friendships and mysteries
I am not a good fit for:
  • Contemporary in any age group
  • Thrillers
  • Horror
In drawn to books that are fun, have a sense of adventure with strong dialogue and characters that pop off the page. I’m not afraid of spice (I actually prefer a strong romance). Some of my recent favorites are:
  • Butcher and Blackbird,
  • The Bookshop and the Barbarian
  • Phantasma
  • The Honeywitch
  • Neon Gods
  • Ninth House
  • Nightstrider
  • Dark Water Daughter
  • Small Town Big Magic
  • Magic Has No Borders
  • Voyage of the Damned
  • A Ruinous Fate
  • Spellbound
  • Nightbirds
