Arva Bhavnagarwala is a pediatrician and writer based in Mumbai, India. Between seeing patients and being patient with her two boys, she scribbles a few words here and there. These words form stories and she gets an adrenaline rush when the stories connect with readers. Her short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in anthologies and literary magazines like Woman’s Era, Active Muse, and The Hooghly Review. A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE is her debut novel; it was shortlisted for Unbound Firsts and is out now by Shaherazad Shelves.
Over the last two years, I’ve learned a lot from the writing community. I usually help my writing group friends to polish their manuscripts. It’s something that I enjoy doing and it also helps me elevate my writing. I would love to give back to the community, specially to the underrepresented ones, as we need all the help we can get.
My ideal mentee should be enthusiastic to work with me. I like to communicate often, so they shouldn’t mind me pinging them about things regarding their manuscript.
I’m open to answering any queries my mentee would have after the feedback on the manuscript. I’d also love to help them with the query letter and synopsis.
Genres:
- Contemporary Romance YA/Adult
- Romcoms (I don’t prefer too much spice. Closed door romance is my favourite. At the most, one explicit sex scene is still okay)
- Mystery/thrillers
- Urban Fantasy
I’d love to work with more South Asian authors.
