WriteHive Conference planning is in full swing!
Behind the scenes we’re planning all the logistics to ensure that this year’s event is a success. And that includes our annual Sponsored Artist Award.
A portion of our donations are dedicated to supporting an artist in need with funds to subsidize their journey to publication. We recognize that preparing a novel for publication requires money. Editors, book covers, and marketing cost money. With our Sponsored Artist Award, we hope to alleviate some of that strain.
Last year, we awarded Cassandra Stubbs $500 to purchase book covers for her trilogy. The first book, Siren Daughter, is coming out soon. We are super excited that the Sponsored Artist Award helped Cassandra achieve her goal. Would you like to see Cassandra’s cover for Siren Daughter? Cassandra has graciously allowed us to reveal the cover. We’ve gotten a sneak peak, and it is beautiful! Watch this space and you can see the amazing work by Moor Books. Thanks to our donors, WriteHive is able to give away not one but TWO Sponsored Artist Awards this year. Have a manuscript completed and interested in knowing more? Here are the details:
How to Qualify: Must have full draft completely written.
** Must be willing to submit first 10 pages for evaluation if selected
Submission Period: Application Form will be available from March 1 to March 15
The Process:
Fill out the application form between March 1 to 15
AND email a one-page query letter of your manuscript to contact@writehive.org
Use the subject LASTNAME WriteHive Sponsored Artist Query.
**We must receive both application and query before EOD March 15th EST
Next Steps:
Once the submission window has closed, we will pick the top 5 queries from all applicants.
You will be notified before April 1st if you qualify for the second round. Only 5 participants will advance to the second round.
If you are notified you are one of the top 5 contestants, you must respond with the first 10 pages of your completed manuscript. We must receive your manuscript within 48 hours of notification, so please have your MS excerpt ready to go!
Winner: Winner will be announced during the WH conference held April 16 - 18th
